I saw on a forum that many people are playing, petting, and holding cats in various petstores (for example petco) but I'm sure if you ask politely, the petsmart volunteers/employees will let you c:
It's also really good if you pay them a little extra attention, It's never a bummer to say hi
I plan on asking them the next time I go somewhere near a pet store, I'm pretty sure they won't say no. (I also saw on a video of a couple in petstore and they were petting, holding and cuddling with the cats, so adorable!)
They might also talk you in to adopting one, and I must warn you, it's hard to say no. Good luck!
