Although the influenza virus can spread from person to person on respiratory droplets in the air after coughs or sneezes, and in special environmental conditions it might be truly airborne, it isn't thought to be of significance in the airborne state with influenza. On the respiratory droplets it is heavier so it will fall to the floor or on surfaces rather than stay suspended in the air. For this reason, rain would really have no effect on it, except to maybe move the virus off of surfaces that people are likely to touch and pick the virus up on their hands if the rain is hard enough.
The best way to prevent a flu virus from spreading to you or others is to keep the virus particles washed off your hands by frequent and thorough hand washing and avoid touching things to pick more of them up.
