AnswerYes, the grain pretty much is the seed. When you buy it, the grain is all dried up, so all you can do is cook it.

Actually the endosperm is protected in the outer shell or seedcoat of rice. But if the seedcoat is removed,the endosperm become inactive. So we can't grow paddy from rice grain that we buy from shops.
