Skin colour has nothing to do with the toxicity of a chicken. The reason most store bought chickens are white is because to mass marketing. Be warned eating an old silky hen with be tough and probably not worth the effort as there isn't much meat on a bantam.

The piece of skin on a chickens face is called a piece of skin on the chickens face! I NEVER KNEW THAT
Silky chickens make fantastic pets (speaking from experience) I had 2 - Surfer, and Frothy. They are adorable! If you want pet chickens get them as babies, they will be tamer when the grow up and they will let you hold them. Also bantam sliky chickens would be good because they are smaller and easier to handle :)
Some chickens are blue although a "blue chicken" is not a recognized breed.. Blue hens as a color description are available in a number of breeds of chicken. The color is actually a gray/black/light gray but the official color is called "blue". The feet and skin of some breeds are also blue. See the related links for more on this.
