Spore is a tremendously open-ended game; the only ending (ultimate goal) in Spore is to reach the Space Stage and enter the center of the galaxy.
Even if this is done, once can still complete missions, badges, achievements, arbitrary personal goals, etc as well as re-playing previous stages with different styles of play.
Not to mention the nearly infinite amount of time that can be spent in the Creators

Spore is a PC only game. Plus, since Spore is a Microsoft game and Microsoft and Sony are bitter rivals, the chances of it ever coming out on any PlayStation are slim to none. Recently, Spore has come to Wii as well, so I guess that Bill Gates and the Japanese/Chinese dudes who made Nintendo get along.
