No. Like any other alcoholic beverage such as whisky, tequila is a depressant. You drink it for the same exact reason you drink any other alcoholic beverage. A number of people find it more enjoyable than other Alcoholic Beverages and many find hangovers far worse than with other alcoholic beverages.

while alchohol is an undeniable depressent, tequila affects some people as a stimulint several hours after injestion. from first hand experience i can tell you my wife won't let me drink tequila late in to the night because at 5 am i am wired and ready for tennis(i don't play tennis). i can't go back to sleep, i am wide awake wired and read to go.

Individual results may vary! from what i understand these results are not common.

No. Most alcoholic drinks do not, unless mixed with a caffeinated beverage or sold (and advertised) while stating that they do
