it is a mid year split in 1994. 1993 should all have been r12.

Hey Kristy==The system was origionally built to operate on R12. This is not available now and the system has to be converted to R134. GoodluckJoe
The newer Freon (r134) does not mix with the old Freon. The system needs to be flushed, special oil added so that r134 will be compatible with the system gaskets, then a vacuum pulled. Then the Freon can be added.
This has a r134 system after 1993 was made standand industry wide to quiet the epa issue with r12

Should be R134 if it is 1993 or newer if older should be converted to R134
You need to have current system drained of existing R12 Freon. Replace all factory o rings with Green R134 O-rings. Verify all tubes and hoses are in good condition. Have current system drawn down with a vacuum. Pump in new R134 freon. Kits are available at nearest auto parts store and very easy to use.
If you mix r12 with r134 air conditioning system, it will cause a high pressure in your airconditioning system and eventually damage the compressor and the evaporator. R12 is only for r12 aircon and something with r134, it can't be mix.
NO ! and Why?
1993-95 for most.
