Yes , the #1 mark on your distributor cap faces to the rear and slightly towards the drivers side of the engine That is where your # 1 spark plug wire connects , then going COUNTERCLOCKWISE ( the distributor rotor turns COUNTERCLOCKWISE ) the #'s 3 , 7 , 2 , 6 , 5 , 4 , 8 spark plug wires are connected to the distributor cap The engine cylinders / spark plugs are numbered : passenger side of engine , going from front to rear , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 and on the drivers side of the engine , going from front to rear 5 , 6 , 7 , 8
