According to Wards Automotive, as of 2003 the first Corvette made (E53F001001) still existed and was restored and driveable (it led a parade). I have not been able to find any more information about it, but since #1 would be worth well over $1 million to the right collector, it would be foolish to let it get away.
Says who?
The first two cars made no longer exist, leaving the third one made as the earliest still in existence. Car collector Dave Ressler purchased the vehicle, known as #003 for an even $1 Million in 2006.
If the Chevy Corvette did not exist, then presumably the movie "Corvette Summer" starring Mark Hamill would not have been made. But possibly Mark Hamill would have appeared in some other move instead. It's hard to be sure about alternate realities, they can be slippery.
