If your eng VG 33E will use belt .
Eng VQ 35 DE use chain .
But look in your engine . if the cover is plastic than your belt timing .
If your engine cover by metal than you have a chain timing
It has an interference engine. The cam belt must be changed at 90,000 miles. The VTEC engine also has a balance shaft belt that also must be changed. Non-VTEC engine does not have the balance shaft belt.
The Subaru 2.5 L engine is a non-interference engine. If you change the timing belt when it should be changed you don't need to worry either way.
it is an interference engine, so get you timing belt changed
It is an interference engine. It is an interference engine.
It is an interference engine. It is an interference engine.
YES
nope if that cambelt goes you are in for a big bill get it changed
Yes. And it has a timing belt that needs to be changed about every 90,000 miles or so.
YES!! get it changed. The 2e is an interference engine. I have one in my Corolla and I know of several 2e engines that have bent valves and damaged rockers when the belt broke.
Interference,
Interference engine.
According to the Owner's Manual, it should be changed at 90,000 miles. I am still trying to find out whether it is an interference or non-interference engine. If it is a non-interference engine, the timing belt breaking won't cause engine failure.
