Usually in a housing located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose I have an 01 Durango with a 4.7 and the thermostat is in the lower radiator hose at the engine end.
It is under the housing where the lower radiator hose hooks to the engine.

Most rads have a drain at the bottom,on one of the end tanks. If you can not find it just take the lower rad hose off.
Good luck trying to find it. Pull the lower hose. It is faster and does the same thing. I never did find the one for my Dakota. This is what I did. Good luck.
Yours may come off the front of the radiator. My friend's had a trap door just below it. I believe it was on the driver's side. His ended up being plugged and we diconnected the lower hose to drain it.
Should be on bottom tank/corner/driver's side. Looks like a plastic key. If it's a replacement with no petcock, you will have to pull lower hose.
Lower passenger side of the radiator.
