When I started servicing my used '06 Tribeca "B-9" (love that--bomber style), my dealership gave me a service schedule--and on it was TIMING BELT, she crossed out the 60k miles and wrote 105K miles to change it. $950 was quoted.

Now that I'm at 103K miles, I was looking for better price so I went to a local garage and the mechanic looked it up on his PC and told me THERE IS NO BELT--IT'S A CHAIN--NO NEED TO REPLACE.

So I'm glad that I didn't take it to the dealer for that ---and wonder if they would've charged me $950 and changed nothing?!?!?

So the answer--according to me local garage mechanic is--NO belt-- it's a TIMING CHAIN-- WHICH DOESN'T NEED REPLACEMENT.
