Yes it is an interference engine
7.6 quarts according to the manual for a 2.3L 2005 Mazda 3. I can't imagine it's any different for a 2008 Mazda 3 with the same engine.
It is an interference engine. Severe engine damage will occur if the belt breaks. The belt should be changed every 60,000 miles. Do not believe the previous post. Your Mazda engine is a Non-Interference engine....the belt can break....replace the belt and tensioner (with Mazda OEM parts only -trust me on this) and you are good to go. There will not be any related valve damage. Note: Some manuals do indicate incorrectly 89-98 MPVs are an interference engine...This is not true; says I, a certified mechanic.

The 2008 Mazda MAZDA6 has a 3 yr./ 36000 mi. basic warranty.

NO! I tried 14 inch rims on my 2008 mazda 3 hatchback and the calipers did not allow the rim to fit.
