The 2008 Wrangler did not have an option for a V8 from the factory.
They don't put a V8 in that year wrangler.
Unfortunately no
Niether it is an inline 6.
No Jeep Wranglers were ever equipped with a V8 from the factory. They all had either a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder engine. The CJ was equipped with a V8 but not the Wrangler.

I believe the Chevy small block is the best bet for ease of change over and thecheapest.
A 1997 Jeep V8 has a timing chain, not a belt.
AMC 304, Chevy 350, Ford 302, get the point. You will need to do alot of new wiring and a conversion plate to bolt up the tranny.Good Luck! EJEEPERGUY
You need to provide more info on the size and manufacturer of the v8 you wish to swap, also trans selection, 4wd or not?
the jeep grand cherokee, jeep patriot, jeep commander
Yes.
The Jeep Wranglers & CJs have an almost unlimited choice of engines/transmissions. I saw someone shoe-horn a viper motor into a Wrangler! A place like Advance Adapters has just about any adaprter you might need for whatever choices you would like. So you need to decide how you will use it then choose the engine/trans/Xfer case you need for how you plan to use it. Make sure you do good research BEFORE you start to avoid unforeseen pitfalls. Jeep forums & blogs are great places to pick up ideas & see how others have done it.
