The flag for the United States of America, commonly referred to as "America," does not have blue stripes. The flag of the USA consists of the blue rectangle in the upper lefthand corner. Within this blue rectangle are 50 white stars, which represent each state in the Union. The remainder of the flag consists of thirteen horizontal stripes that are alternately red and white. These represent the 13 original U.S. colonies. America doesn't have a special flag. However, In South America, the flags of several countries and territories there do have blue stripes: Argentina, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Uruguay all have multiple blue stripes (usually two or three). In addition, Colombia, Ecuador, the 4 French overseas territories, Haiti, the Netherlands Antilles, Paraguay, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Venezuela all have one blue stripe. In North America, aside from the US flag, neither the flag of Canada or Mexico have blue in them.
