The BBA is a basic course done after high school. Students feel that this is a better career option than doing a course in arts (BA) or in commerce. The way that this course is conducted, at least in most places in India, does not prepare students to become managers. It is conducted as an undergraduate course with little emphasis on skills or management. It is a classroom course and has been started by many institutes to cash in on the craze for acquiring an MBA degree. Further, the BBA is not a precursor to the MBA. One would be able to find junior level jobs in industry after the course, provided the student has good communication skills. These are not taught in the classroom and are acquired over the long term. If you want to become a high flying MBA, do a good bachelor's course in engineering or economics, acquire one or two years work experience, and then opt for the MBA.
