No. The many things The Bible has to say about sin specifically indicate it is not something we can fix ourselves. It is not just something we do but it also has a power over us that we cannot control.
This power of sin is why people repeatedly lie and are proud and do not listen to the correction of others. This is why they are hypocritical and dishonest and accuse others of the very things they do themselves.
The Bible also makes it clear that sin is applicable to everybody on the planet and this it is a universal problem for the entire human race, wherever we come from on the planet. We also cannot use the sins of others in not treating us right, or even those who did not our questions properly as excuses for avoiding personal accountability before God.

People also like to make long list of things they can do to make themselves better. They also like to point the finger at others and yet show their hypocrisy by doing the very things they accuse others of. So, when it comes to the crunch, the Bible is right. We cannot fix ourselves.
