I Like the "Metal Zone MT-2," made by Boss. Its got four controls to shape your sound, High, 2 Mids, and the low. Plus a level knob and a Distortion knob. Bing able to have that much control of the mids is a powerful thing for a guitar pedal. Theres alot of good pedals out there that's just a suggestion. I Common pedal is the Boss DS-1 and I know alot of people that like that pedal too.

It depends on what kind of music youre playing, if you like the slayer style thrash go with the metal zone, but if youre looking for a more metalcore Bring me the Horizon get the metal core, add a few other pedals Delay pedals and you'll be set.

when you say death metal distortion I asume you're reffering to the digitech one. I'd say the metalzone is better as it's more versatile and doen't give as much feedback. but they're both decent.
