An AWD is an all-wheel drive vehicle, a vehicle with a powertrain capable of providing power to all its wheels at the same time.
The 2009 Chevrolet Traverse (both the FWD and AWD models CAN be flat towed (dinghy towed). The owners manual recommends starting the vehicle at the beginning of the trip and at each fuel stop for 5 minutes to lubricate the transmission. The steps required to dinghy tow are listed in the owners manual. Answer from a Chevrolet dealer......
It is connected to the rear of the engine, which faces longitudinally in the vehicle. So the gearbox should be somewhere between the front seats.
no
Awd is all wheel drive. Atv usually stands for all terrain vehicle.
It is not necessary to have 4X4 tires if you are driving an AWD vehicle. You might be interested in having a good snow tire on your vehicle though depending on what climate you live in.
Answer this
RWD and some AWD
Go to your local dealership that rents these brands of vehicle and talk to them about pricing.
Look under the vehicle. If there is a drive shaft going from the front half of the vehicle to the back half of the vehicle then it is AWD. If no drive shaft then it is FWD. If you're still not sure after looking at it take it to a shop, they will tell you for free.
That would require a massive modification of the vehicle. It would be much cheaper to just sell this car and buy a AWD.
