The only UH-60's flown by the Marine Corps are flown by HMX-1. The Marine Corps uses the UH-1 for similar missions throughout the rest of the fleet...
Bear in mind there are many versions of the UH-60, but most can fly about 1,350 miles without refuelling
I believe it is called the UH 60 Black Hawk
The UH-60 is indeed flown by the U.S. Marines and by all other branches of the service. It has a number of modified forms to adapt this platform to a variety of roles. It turns out that only an elite group of U.S. Marines currently fly the VH-60N Blackhawk. It is flown by the Nighthawks of U.S. Marines HMX-1 out of MCAF, Quantico, VA. And it's for transporting the President, the Vice President, Cabinet members and V.I.P.'s. It is a specialized application, and, oddly, the only one for the use of the Blackhawk by the USMC. In the Fleet Marine Force, which is the heart of the Marine Corps, they use the UH-1N Twin Huey, which is going to be upgraded to the UH-1Y Venom. The Marines also use the AH-1T Twin Cobra instead of the AH-64 Apache. In both cases, it's because of the rotor system. Hueys and Cobras both have two-blade main rotors, which make it very easy to put them close together on the deck of a carrier. Blackhawks and Apaches have four-blade mains, so they can't be shoved in tight without folding the blades. The VH-60 will be replaced when the EH-101 comes into the presidential fleet. Another troop carrier used by the Marines is the CH-53.
The average Blackhawk carries 360 gallons of fuel internally . Some versions may differ.
Huey was replaced in US service by the UH-60 Blackhawk.
Flying about 120 kias straight and level, the uh-60 can fly for about 2 hours on 1 bag of gas
Military pilot qualifications indicate what aircraft you can fly.
Yes. Some helicopters are actually black, others are very dark green or brown that appear black. Helecopters such as the MH-6 Little Bird, the Pave Low, and the UH-60 Blackhawk
Not all army helicopters have the same weight. The Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter weighs 13,648 pounds when empty. This helicopter has a maximum speed of 173 miles per hour.
