Unfortunately yes ! Simply because the UK has a 'free' welfare system - in that anyone who comes here can get free medical treatment and state benefits ! Other countries aren't so generous - which is why we're a 'magnet' for migrants from all over the EU and beyond !
Mind you - if France did more to stop illegals coming here - we'd have far fewer to cope with ! (Gets down off soap-box, takes deeeep breath and... moves on to the next question...)
