because it is centre for intellect learning and memory consciousness and language if it is damaged it will mean loss of consciousness loss of memory , difficulty with leaning and such like
Your memory is controlled by the cerebrum. and the frontal and temporal lobes are the main areas of speech and language.
The cerebrum controls the memory. For memory there are three parts: Encoding which includes receiving, processing and combining information. Secondly, Storage which is making a permanent record and lastly Retrieval, or recall. The prefrontal cortex is involved in short term memory. The hippocampus is the storage area and can hold an unlimited amount. A person with damage here can not put memory into storage. See link below:
The any memory, emotions and language comes from the temporal lobe which is located towards the back of the brain.
Cerebrum is the part of the brain that take 80% and used for reasoning, memory and etc....
Mental activity ie. Memory, learning and reasoning. Sensiry perception. Intiation and control of skeletal muscle contraction.
The cerebrum is defined as a portion of the brain that occupies the upper part of the cranial cavity ( space formed inside the skull). The Function of the cerebrum is to store information of memory and furthermore utilize this information in reasoning processes. Also the cerebrum functions in helping to determine a person's personality and intelligence.

Function of serotonin include control of appetite, sleep, memory and learning, temperature regulation, mood, behavior (including sexual and hallucinogenic behavior), cardiovascular function, muscle contraction, endocrine regulation, and depression .
Cerebrum
Cerebrum
cerebrumThis is the cerebrum, where higher-order thought processes occur. The cerebrum is responsible for mental processes such as memory recall, language, art, emotional control and many fine motor skills like the ability to write (or text).
The cerebrum is the largest part of the brain in vertebrates, though not necessarily in invertebrates, due to evolution. The cerebrum performs several key functions such as controlling movement, reading the senses, communication, and memory. In humans, the cerebrum also functions in advanced learning, language, and possibly the human soul. Hoping this helps, F-man
The cerebrum controls all senses, memory, and the ability to learn. Primarily in audio stimulation (hearing) and notably music the right temporal lobe makes sense of what you hear.
