First of all, there is no "police state", conservative or otherwise. To think so is most likely a result of being influenced by others who are sociologically impaired. If there WAS a police state in America, the for sure would not be any occupy movement, whatsoever.
I have never heard of any police force wanting to deter the occupy movement, but rather, to enforce the needed laws of sanitation, noise restriction, murder, rape, maiming, and so forth. If the police forces were to ignore the Constitution and other laws, you had better believe that violent force would have already been used, and it has not.
