Yes it does. The fetus is responsible for the initiation of parturition by triggering a cascade of complex endocrine/biochemical events that will take a little long to discuss here. However, the fetal hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal axis is responsible for the initiation of parturition. When gestation reaches it's conclusion or termination period, the fetus approaches the inherent space of limitations of the uterine cavity. As a result, it is believed that it becomes stressed, and this stress causes the fetal anterior pituitary to release adrenal corticotropin (ACTH). ACTH stimuales the fetal adrenal cortex to produce corticoids. The elevation of fetal corticoids initiates a cascade of events that cause dramatic changes in the endocrine condition of the dam, involving two major events: 1) removal of the myometrial "progesterone block" enabling myometrial (uterine muscle) contractions to begin and 2) increased reproductive tract secretives, particularly by the cervix.

What is the pituitary hormone controls ovulation?

luteinizing hormone (LH) from the pituitary glandgonadotropinreleasing hormone (GnRH) is firs produced in the brain by the hypothalamus. The pituitary gland is then triggered by this to release the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH).The FSH is transported to the ovaries, via the bloodstream where it starts the growth of a follicle.Upon the development of the follicle estrogen starts being produced. After approximately 10 days, the estrogen levels become high.Estrogens peak about a day before ovulation. This would be day 13 in a normal 28 day cycle. This peak bring about a surge of luteinizing hormone (LH) from the pituitary gland. This surge acts a cue for the ovarian follicle to release a mature ovum into the fallopian tube leaving behind corpus luteum or the empty follicle. The cells of the corpus luteum produce progesterone and estrogenThe uterine lining is stimulated to thicken with blood by these two hormones to prepare them for the nurturing of the fertilised egg.The corpus luteum starts to diminish and leaves uterine lining with no hormonal support. The lining starts to shed offfemales monthly menstrual cycle starts again.Low levels of estrogen and progesterone also signal the hypothalamus to start the process over again.

What is the anterior pituitary hormone needed for spermatogenesis?

In men, follicle stimulating hormone starts spermatogenesis. This hormone is also abbreviated FSH.

What is the name of the hormone that starts puberty?

The first hormone that starts the changes in boy boys and girls is called 'gonadotrophin releasing hormone' (GnRH). It is released by the hypothalamus (a part of the brain) and triggers the pituitary gland to release two hormones: Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH).

Teenagers bodies are in the process of puberty. When the body starts to change, drugs can mix with hormones and into the bloodstream which may either damage or kill a hormone. If this does occur, problems with sexual organs normally occur.

What triggers the ovaries to release egg?

The pituitary gland produces FSH which starts the development of a woman's egg cell in a follicle in one of the ovaries. The ovary produces oestrogen which causes the thickening of the uterus lining. The pituitary now produces LH which causes ovulation and stimulates the empty follicle to produce progesterone.Progesterone causes the lining of the uterus to get thicker ready for the fertilised egg.If the egg is not fertilised, production of oestrogen and progesterone stops, the lining of the uterus breaks down and menstruation occurs.
