The Internationaol Dateline doesn't run through any countries. That was done on purpose, and it's the reason for the wiggles, zigs, and zags in the line.

If the International Dateline were on land, then any country, state, city, county, town, or farm it cut through would always have two different calendar dates. Life would be a constant total nightmare for anyone living and trying to read a local newspaper, go to school, make a dentist appointment, or run a business there.

The International Dateline was defined with significant zigs and zags in it, expressly to avoid imposing on any single town, city, state, country, or island the horror of always having two different calendar dates within its borders. Life in such a place would be impossible on any modern civilized level.

Determing what type of race you are running and at what level, if this is a track race you will not run through anything except at international level when you will run through a light gate. Running cross country/ martahon/off road if you were 1st you would run through a ribbon occcasionly but this is not correct for every race.
International Date Line.
The international date line separates time zones that are farthest ahead from time zones that are farthest behind. The west side of the line is a day ahead of the east side of the line. It mostly coincides with 180 degrees longitude with some exceptions.
