Why does the moon appear as bright in the daytime as it does at night?

At nightime, The Moon shines from light that it reflects from the Sun. In the daytime, the Sun is shining from its own power, not a reflection, so it is much brighter. The question is very interesting. You are not going to see a full moon when there is sunlight in the sky. You would have to compare similar phases of the moon that are visible both during daylight and night time hours. Apart from that, the effect you notice probably has more to do with something called "psychophysics" than with actual albedo (observed brightness of a heavenly body). Your cone cells (the cells in your eyes that perceive color) are operating in the bright light of day. In daylight, the rods shut down. At night, the rod cells operate and the cones shut down. The rod cells are much more sensitive to light but do not detect color. So against a black sky, you rods are having a field day picking up all that beautiful moonlight. The contrast of the moon against the sky is very great. However, this also is an experimental question. It must already have been addressed. It would be interesting to actually measure (objectively) the amount of light reflected from the moon during daylight, and compare it to a similar phase observed at night. It might even turn out that there is more light coming from the area of the moon's disk during the day than at night, because of all the scattered sunlight in the sky. But because the less sensitive cones are operating, and because the contrast of moon to sky is lower, the moon appears less bright.

How does the moon get its energy from the sun?

The moon gets energy from the sun the same way that all the other bodies in the solar system get energy of the sun. The radiation fro the sun hits it. The reason people say the moon does not give off its own light is because the light we see is the light that is shining on the moon from the sun. The sunlight is hitting that part of the moon, so we can see it, the same way we can see things when sunlight hits them on the Earth.
