∙ 15y agoSomebody told me that it was about packing things intoboxes, such as decorations.But the celebrations not over yet, so you should'nt be throwing them out either. Don't do anythingwith boxes on boxing day. Just put them in the corner and worry about them later, and enjoy yourself.When I was a child I thought Boxing day was to commemorate some famous boxing match. A merry Christmas to you all!

∙ 8y agoNo that is not true the origin of the name comes from Great Britain. Where the rich would have boxes laid out in church to give to the poor or less fortunate. The gifts were typically in boxes. IN addition many churches and chaples would have collection boxes for the poor. On this day the "boxes" would be opened and the financial content distributed to those most in need. In some churches and chaples this is still practiced.
