Normally the O/D OFF light is not lit up , this allows the transmission to shift
into overdrive ( the 4th gear of the automatic transmission if the vehicle
speed is fast enough such as on a highway / freeway )
If you want the transmission to only use the first 3 gears and prevent shifting
back and forth between overdrive and drive such as on hilly terrain select
the Overdrive / Off ( O/D OFF ) position
