My papillon barks hardly at all, but it does depend on the dog. These dogs do tend to make fair guard dogs for apartment living because they can be protective of their owners and they do let you know when there is someone at the door. I would not condiser them very yappy dogs though.

Yes, they do. I wouldn't suggest getting one if you are allergic or a neat freak. Also, although small they are some of the loudest dogs you could come across. All dogs shed it just depends on the length of the hair and the dander count.

Barking may be an issue. The Papillon has a strong instinct to protect its property and tends to bark at every new sight and sound. The Papillon may not be a good apartment dog due to its nature to bark excessively.

Without proper training, yes. Papillions are very high energy dogs, which means they have a tendency to run a lot, and a tendency to bark at random sounds/movements as well.
