∙ 8y agoThe poppy was mentioned in a famous poem by a Canadian soldier, Major John McCrae. During the second Battle of Ypres, (1915) he noticed that poppies grew profusely among the bodies of his dead soldiers.
In all Allied countries it represents those soldiers who died in wars.
