my 93 with a 2.5 uses 3 bolts to hold pulley on the pump
water pump is in the front, mounted to the block. it has a pully wheel and the fan blades are mounted to the water pump its self.
The original was bolted on, replacement water pumps have pressed on pulleys that are not removable.
Water pump is located below alternator on passengers side
wrap the belt around the pully to hold pully still
It is inside the engine, driven by the timing belt.
Do not believe there were any Dodge Spirits made until 1989! Dodge Spirits was made from 1989-1995, that's when they was replaced by the Plymouth Breeze and the Dodge Stratus.
The water pump is timing belt driven you got to get to the timing belt to have access.
It is not required, but is a good idea.
Under hood pasanger side losen three bolts in motor mount about 3/4 in,may pry down with flat screwdriver. This will drop motor. Remove belt and pump bolts and pully bolts push pully back. Now pully will fall in hand. P s drain fluid first.
Yes, on this particular engine the water pump is driven by the timing belt.
Right front of engine block (next to the fan pully) It is the smooth round pulley that is about 3 inches across.
Absolutly! All water cooled automotive engines have freeze plugs. Chris
