This depends on the pocket. You may be able to iron the raw edges of the material under (towards the "wrong" side) and then sew along the side and bottom edges to secure the pocket. If the pencil has writng running up the side, put thepencil on its side so the writing is the correct way up, the bottom of the pencil (where you should start sharpening it) is where the writing starts and the top is where it ends. If there is a rubber at one end that's the top. if the pencil has no markings then whatever end you don't sharpen will be the top.
