On Earth: roughly, yes. You can show that it's not exactly the same direction each night by setting up your own miniature version of Stonehenge: mark a point where you will stand each night at sunset, and then mark the location of sunset on a railing or something a few yards away. You'll see that the position of sunset slowly moves north and south over the course of the year (it will be furthest south about December 21, and furthest north about June 21).

No. Although the Sun would set generally in the west, the exact point on the horizon would be determined by the day of the year and the location from which it is observed. In the extreme polar regions, the Sun may merely circle, either above or below the horizon.

Technically, since both the Sun and its planets orbit around the center of the Milky Way, the Sun is never at the same place in space when it sets.

No. Lots of factors effect this. The time of year, the part of the planet you are on, the position of the moon in its orbit of Earth. All of these and other things effect when and where you will see the sun rise and the moon rise.

Yes. Anywhere on the equator but only on Mar 21 and Oct 21. In addition, it will rise and set vertically 2 days for all places between the tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. Those places on the northern edge of the tropics will have this happen on June 21 and those places on the southern edge of the tropics will have this happen on Dec 21.

On this planet, yes.

On Venus, _IF_ we ever manage to terraform it, perhaps not. Venus rotates "retrograde" to the "normal"counterclockwise direction of spin which is the norm in this solar system.

To a certain extent, yes. Pick a day - March 10, for example - and compare the direction of sunrise and the time of sunrise for March 10, 2010 to March 10, 2009 and March 10, 2011. The direction of sunrise and the time of sunrise will be very close to the same for the same dates each year.

It would be even more accurate to compare March 10 of 2010 (two years after leap year) to March 10, 2006 or March 10, 2014, dates that are also two years after a leap year.

From one day to the next, however, the directions and times change a little each day.

This is how many of the ancient megalithic monuments such as Stonehenge work; the direction of sunrise on the summer solstice is the same for every summer solstice - and within the margin of error for the ancient Druids, has been for 3000 years!

No. The apparent point at which the Sun rises moves a little every day, moving north from December 21 to June 21, and south from June 21 to December 21.

It varies depending on the time of year, which is why we get different lengths of days as the sun appears to be longer in the sky and rise at different points on the horizon.

No. The direction varies quite a bit, depending on where you live. For the same geographical location, it also varies between Summer and Winter.
