make sure it's not the rear brakes hanging up, see if they feel hot, if you have drum brakes on the back a wheel cylinder could be hanging up.
I also have diff noise in my VX SS, it sounds like bearings to me, maybe wrong. A diff specialist in Brisbane said about $800 if it is bearings, plus a complete service. I am looking for a good second hand diff, they are around $450.
sounds like your brakes are not releasing properly
Could be a drive belt or brake warning device. Check your belts, and have your brakes inspected. More than likely this is your brakes. There is a metal warning device that will make a noise like you describe when the pads wear to a certain point. This indicates they need replacing. Ignore this warning and you will ruin the rotors.
It's hard to diagnose without hearing the noise, but if you're sure that it is not the brakes, it could be dirt/sand/rock in the brakes. If you're hearing the sound all the time (even when not applying the brakes), it could be wheel bearings.
did you check your brake pads, to me it sounds like you need new brakes, i imagine that if you have been driving with that noise happening and you didn't replace your brakes your rotors are most likely scored, possibly warped, full of hot spots, and heat cracks
no, that sounds like the brakes are grinding because the are ready to be changed, check them out immediately.
Sounds like the brake pads - shoes are worn down to medal and cutting into the rotors and drums. Need to pull all 4 wheels off and check the brakes.
I pulled fuse on the abs system , and the noise went away. Ron
Sounds like a brake problem. Need to pull wheels and check the brakes.
