It has a belt
It has a chain.
Hi, this engine has a timing chain not a belt.
they are a chain not a belt!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The belt on a Mondeo TCDI Duratorq 56 plate is part of the timing chain/belt. The timing chain and belt should be checked at 100K miles. The belt and the chain work together in the running of the engine.
My 02 plate 2 ltre TDCI has a chain
no it has a timing chain change at 120k
You don't!!! It is a chain that is only inspected every 100,000(?) miles
A Timing Chain.If the car is Serviced regularly,the chain won't need replacing for a good few years...
The TDCi uses a chain not belt Not always! On the Mk 4 TDCi 140 is fitted a Peugeot engine called Duratorq, and being peugeot, has a BELT, I believe part belt part chain drive actually. This applies to all the Mk 4 Duratorqs, 1.8, 2.0 maybe 2.2 as well Apart from early auto cars, when the change is at 65,000 miles, others are scheduled at 125,000. Seems a lot, had mine done at 105,000, cost with full kit and water pump(i think) is around £300.
def chain
Depends what year - you don't tell us. Some older diesel engines had a chain, but the Tdci fitted in more modern Fiestas has a belt.
All ford diesels from around 2002 onward have a timing chain, I have an 05 mondeo 2.0tdci ghia estate and this has the timing chain, so no cambelt worries or costs.
