Why is this website's name wikianswers?
It is a wiki site where you get answers. A wiki is a site where the users get to edit the content. So people come here to get answers or to edit the content. On other answers sites, different people give different answers and the asker or other contributors may vote. But here, we use the wiki format and strive for one best answer for each question, even though different people edit the same answers. There are times, such as when Religion is the topic or the question calls for opinions, where there is no one best answer, so different people answer from their own perspective in the same answer.
Why do all the worst answers replace good answers on WikiAnswers?
Some people on WikiAnswers do not understand the concept of a Wiki, and end up replacing answers with their own or adding their answer after an existing answer. Answers on WikiAnswers are meant to be answered with a single, unified answer. Users should not remove an answer to replace it with their own unless the existing answer is entirely incorrect.

Answers.com is the main hub for the Wiki Q&A part of Answers Corporation. Answers does own other sites/applications such as Reseller Ratings, Foresee, and Webcollege.

I think wiki answers will show up in search results. I tried searching "increase bass in samsung E250" and wiki answers showed up in the top. So it's clear that search engines are picking up wiki answers too (Probably not much as yahoo answers). It's for sure that search engine bots are crawling wiki answers too. More:- Definitely the search engines are picking pages form wiki answers. They come up throurgh answers.com. Yahoo may be giving preference to its own yahoo answers but google does honor answer.com results. The questions and answers get indexed very fast on google that we post on wiki answers. You will especially get a wiki answer result if you search for a question rather than a statement.

Is WikiAnswers precise?
Definitely without a doubt Wiki Answers are NOT always precise. Since people just post what they THINK is right it could be wrong. Some people find the answers on the internet and the internet is not always accurate. Some people post an answer that is correct but not necessarily precise. It might be vaguely right or generally right or non-specifically right or just plain wrong. Don't take this place too seriously and do your own research. Why people don't Google first I don't understand. Google the right words and the answer usually comes up pretty quickly. Search engines do require some brains though to use. Don't trust Wiki Answers completely.

I found both the sites equally better.The thing that edges Yahoo over Wiki Answers is that it has the system of points and levels,you can choose best answers,you can become a top contributor and you can add contacts and fans.But Wiki!Answers is not so bad as well,there are less number of trolls here,you can create your own category here,you can edit questions and answers.
