Women did all the work the men couldn't do because they were at war. The worked in the factories and built the planes, tanks, and ships. They did the jobs the men did and there was a national day care system to take care of the children while they were working. As soon as the war was over the women were expected to go back into the house and take care of the children. The day care system set up was stopped.
