is there a permit charge to open carry
No, Texas does not allow open carry for handguns. Rifles and shotguns are not listed in the unlawful carrying weapons law, thus are legal to carry.
According to state law, the only weapons you can not carry (open or concealed) is handguns, illegal knives, and clubs. So, by state law you can carry a rifle or shotgun in the open or concealed, loaded or unloaded. Just a note, you can carry a handgun in your vehicle without a license if you meet the "requirements".
Georgia is not a traditional open carry state. However, open carry IS legal with a Georgia permit. It is also worthy of note that you MAY openly carry a firearm without a permit in a motor vehicle.
In the state of Tennessee it is legal to open carry as long as you have a CCW permit. I would never recommend carrying your firearm openly at the risk of attracting unwanted attention from Law Enforcement and the public. You can call APPS Training Academy in Nashville @ 615-360-6002. They are well informed and will be more than happy to help with any questions
