yes, but it takes a long time, talking years if unopened. If opened and kept cold, it should be good for at least a year if tightly sealed and untampered with.

They do not have anything in common other than a high sugar content. Triple Sec is a liqueur made of orange rinds and although it is way less sweet than its cousin Curacao it is still quite sweet. Being that it is quite sweet and has a citrus flavor it would probably be a good addition to any drink calling for grenadine but is not one bit close in flavor to it at all. Grenadine is a syrup made from the juice of the pomegranate (although often just a light sugar syrup dyed red with a touch of acetic acid added) Also keep in mind grenadine is non-alcoholic, Triple Sec is not.
