Yes, it does. High schools that have changed from beginning at 9 to starting class after 10am have had huge improvements in average results and a much higher minimum standard in their students, despite having less time in the classroom.
I totally agree with you but as far as the times you mentioned, are you kidding me?! 9:00 a.m. is one of the later start times I've heard of. I would LOVE for high school to start at 9:00 a.m. or even 8:30 a.m. where I live instead of the insane, ridiculous time of 7:25 a.m. Thank God I'm done because I graduated in June 2010, and my college classes start at 9 and 11 on alternating weekdays, with weekends off. :) But I still pity kids who have been forced to wake up in the pitch dark for the past month at around 6:30 a.m. At least it's light out this week by that time, which makes it a little easier for them, since it's "really" 7:30 a.m. (I'm enjoying that extra hour of sleep too!!) :)

Kids don't like getting up early and doing the morning routine and then off to school. When they get home from school they have homework to work on .Kids don't like doing homework or going to bed early for school.
