I just did a quick Google Image search on this, and while there is art showing him wearing it on his left hand, these are by far in the minority (and they appear to be fanart to boot; in all the official images I could find he's wearing it on his right hand).

This is the category of fashion. I suggest wearing your ring on the right hand, middle finger as I remember seeing lots of people do that.

It's called the Grand Staff, and it denotes two handed play, usually featuring the treble clef (anything above middle C & played by right hand), and a bass clef (anything below middle C & played by left hand)
Left hand is over, right hand is under, and about 1/3 into the silk from the middle. Then push with left hand, pull with right, and your release hand (your right hand) should be completely extended. Catch in the middle with your right hand, and left hand should be about 1/4 or so in the pole from the tip of the pole.
It doesn't mean anything in particular. In most cultures, at least, it is just a matter of preference and/or fashion.
There is no correlation between wearing your watch on a specific side and being gay.
