This is down to the individual themselves, not the drink. Different people have different reactions to different things they swallow. Some go "yum". Others go "yuck". A few people have too much (ie - lots of sugar) and end up sick.
If the drink made everyone sick, they wouldn't sell it. They are still selling the drink, so no, it does not make people sick on purpose. But they have absolutely no control on how other people react to their products, just like every other food company out there.
