Zinc does react when heated. It sparks, then turns to a liquid. The reaction takes place because the zinc combines with the o2 and creates zinc oxide.
As metals are good conductors of heat, zinc will get hot when it reacts to heat. If it gets hot enough, it will melt.
Yes it does.
Yes - it gives off hydrogen gas
Metals in the reactivity series from aluminium to copper react with oxygen in the air to form the metal oxide. Aluminium and Zinc reacts very quickly, Iron reacts slowly at room temperature. Tin, Lead and Copper reacts with Oxygen in air when heated. Silver, Gold and Platinum do not react with Oxygen in air
Zinc can be obtained from zinc blende (also known as sphalerite) through a process called roasting. First, the zinc blende is heated in the presence of oxygen to convert it into zinc oxide. Then, the zinc oxide is further heated with coke (a form of carbon) to reduce it to metallic zinc, which can be collected for further use.
Brooks metal ;)
The substance created when zinc is heated with sulphur is zinc sulfide.
what happens to calcium oxide and zinc oxide when heated?
oxygen and hydrogen
Iron and Zinc
Yes, they do. Actually, they react violently when heated and in the presence of oxygen.
When Zinc and Sulphur are heated, an exothermic (giving OUT heat) reaction occurs. The Product formed is called Zinc Sulphide formula ZnS, also known as Zinc Blende in its mineral form. The Equation for the reaction is : Zn + S = ZnS, but I am not sure as the mixture is heated in presence of oxygen. If oxygen works as a catalyst then the equation is right otherwise the product would be Zinc Sulphate.(ZnSO4)

Heated plutonium react rapidly wit oxygen resulting the oxides PuO and PuO2.
It reacts rapidly but not violently unless heated.

Yes zinc will react to form zinc nitrate and silver.
when copper and zinc are heated, they create brass :)
