Hing is a Hindi word. In Malayalam it is known as "kaayam" and in English, "Asafoetida."
"Hing" in Tamil is called "Perungayam." It is a strongly scented resin that is commonly used in cooking to add flavor and aroma to dishes.
Your local auto parts store can sell you a tool to remove them and replace them safely.
open door ,prop door at the back end with floor jack, take two bolts out of door hing, take two remaining bolt from car side of hing then there is a bolt that is backwards you have to take the nut off of it .(it has a hole for a socket behind the kick panel right beside the e-brake pedel ) then you have to grind the( top) of the pin off and drive it out and old bushings --then you have to drill the car side of hing out to the right size of new bushings then put it back together [ make sure you drill the side that bolts to car not the door]
The scientific name for hing is Asafoetida, derived from the resin obtained from the sap of the roots and stem of the Ferula species of plants.
Hing To goes by Hingsta.
I recently had to do this on my 97 silverado to replace the bushings on the door pins... that is the key to removing the doors... i would recommend buying a set of bushings for the door as there is a chance that you will damage them during the removal process... they can be bought at any local autoparts store in the help section... but to get to the bones of the matter... first you need to knock the pins out of the hing... then while you are pulling the door off the quick connects for all the electronics show up from out the door... now as you are taking the pinns out of the hing the spring is going to pop out that was the biggest dificulty in the whole task was putting the spring back in... i used a table clamp and a couple pieces of string to tie it into the closed position... put it into position then remove the string... sounds a lot simpler then it really is on the spring portion... otherwise pretty straight foward... now to remove the pins you just need a hamer and some sort of rod that will fit through the holes... i used a hole punch...
