WHAT is the difference between Fischer formula and Haworth formula?

Fischer projections and Haworth projections are used to show the structures of sugars. The Haworth looks a little 3D but the position of the substituents is directly above or below the ring. Hydrogen is omitted. The Fischer looks a bit like a herring bone- which is how I remembered it- ( Fischer-herringbone ?) Best for linear monosaccharides. It shows hydrogens unlike Haworth. One convention is for D and L forms. Best to look at pictures. Wikipedia shows reasonable pictures but detail is good at vanderbilt link

What is internal capsule and why it is given that name?

It is a broad lamina of white matter made up of projection fibres which pass to and from the cerebral cortex. It's called as "internal capsule" simply because it forms an internal (inner) capsule to the lentiform nucleus.

What is the function of the axis in the vertebra?

How does the latitude lines appear on a polar projection?

A polar projection is a map viewing either the North Pole or the South Pole from above. Each latitude line forms a circle that is centered at the pole. The latitude lines closest to the pole are the smallest, and the ones farther away are the largest.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the polyconic projection?

Disadvantage: The lines of latitude and longitude are curved slightly, it is distorted, so the more distant a land form is from the point the more distorted it is likely to beAdvantage: most land forms have their true shape and size in relation to each other, it is useful to mapping large areas of land that fall in the middle latitude.Your Welcome -Jay

A crest or projection on the superior surface of the ethmoid bone?

The perpendicular plate, which forms the superior part of the septum, descends from the cribiform plate of the ethmoid bone.

What is ethmoid bone?

The ethmoid bone forms the roof of the nasal cavity. Its perpendicular plate forms part of the nasal septum. Its curved projections form the superior and middle nasal conchae. Its superior projection is called the crista galli.

What is an anomeric carbon?

In cyclic form of monosaccharide two forms are possible depending upon the position of -OH group,if it is present below the plane it is known as alpha position and if it is above the plane ,it is known as beta position. The two diastereomers are called anomers.the hemiacetal or hemiketal carbon is called as anomeric carbon.for examplein glucose, C-1 carbon is known as anomeric carbon.

What is sciography?

Sciagraphy is a branch of science of the perspective dealing with the projection of shadows, or delineation of an object in perspective with its gradations of light and shade. One of the major professional fields that use this technique is the architectural field. In architecture it is defined as a study of shades and shadows cast by simple architectural forms on plane surfaces.

Is hydroxyl hydrophobic or hydrophilic?

Hydroxyl -OH is Hydrophilic (attracts water). This is due to the electronegativity of the oxygen atom in -OH which makes the functional group polar. This polarity attracts the also polar H2O molecule creating a hydrophilic effect.
