Well both start of fresh meaning that herbs are grown and harvested. Dried herbs are packaged and sold at the grocery store. Of course by the time they reach your kitchen, a significant amount of time has passed and the flavor might be quite low.

Fresh herbs has been picked from the plant and added to cooking immediately when flavor is at it's highest level making your meal a lot tastier.

there is a big difference in taste, texture , color and visual appeal to a dish.

dried herbs can give a dish a 'hot' taste and i don't mean spicy.

Use fresh when ever possible ,they are so much better.

Fresh Herbs and Spices have better flavor than dried, however, they must be used within days of purchasing/picking them. You can extend the life of fresh herbs, if you place them in a plastic bag, with a damp paper towel, OR in a glass of water in the refrigerator. Dried herbs will keep for about a year, without compromising flavor. You CAN keep them longer, but they will slowly lose flavor over time. You can extend the life of dried herbs by freezing them, in an airtight container or bag. When cooking, it takes MORE of the fresh Herbs and Spices than it does dried ones. For instance, if the recipe calls for a teaspoon of dried basil, you would add approximately a tablespoon of fresh basil. Also, when cooking HOT dishes (not salsas or salads) the fresh herbs should be stirred in at the very end, otherwise, you will cook all of the flavor out of them. Dried herbs can be cooked in the dish from the beginning, if desired. The last differences is the price of fresh vs. dried. Dried herbs work out to be cheaper, especially since they keep so long, and you aren't having to replace them weekly, as you would fresh herbs.

Herbs are stuff like basil, parsley and bananas. (bananas are herbs NOT fruit.)

Spices are pepper, ground cloves, and ground ginger, etc... Try to figure out the difference by gathering different herbs and spices. And remember; SALT is not a spice or herb. It is a seasoning.

Dried parsley and fresh parsley can both be used in food dishes. Which one is used depends wholly on what kind of flavor is trying to be achieved. Fresh parsley will offer more flavor.
