yes you can take depakote while driving. I take depakote for seizures, however if you are diagnosed with epilepsy it is a good idea to not drive for 60 days so the medicine has time do control your condition.
Drinking should be discussed before hand with the prescribing doctor. Depakote does make some people drowsy, and can cause some liver problems relatively quickly. It's best to discuss this before with the doctor. You should not drink alcohol while taking Depakote, whether you have bipolar or not is not an issue. It's a matter of the medication, not the illness. Personal Experience: I take the 500mg depakote twice a day for epilepsy and know my limits. Depakote can easily make you drowsy and tired so whenever I decide to have alcohol I only have 1 or 2 light beers such as Bud Light, Coors Light, or Miller Light. Plus, I only drink once or twice a month. When I went to a dinner years ago a buddy decided to treat me to a beer. I decided to have a bottle of Heineken but pretty soon I started getting dizzy and tired.
I'm not exactly sure from a medical standpoint if it is considered "ok" but i do take depakote 500mg once a day prescribed for mood stabilization and i have smoked marijuana 5 or so times while on it. i have not seen any side effects to my health or my mood. hope this helps. ive been smoking and taking depakote 1500mg daily for 14 years and i have less seisures when im smoking! drinking is much worse on your liver and u dont want that. i havent seemed to see any conflictions between the meds except ambitionlessness and maybe over metabolizing your depakote. check for sure but it cant be two severe im still kickin! good luck
That is dangerous, certain drugs can kill if taken in conjunction with alcohol.
In moderation
I am on Depakote, Clonazepam (Klonopin),Concerta & Prilosec and was concerned about eating grapefruit while on these medications (as I've heard that there can be a negative response while taking some medications and grapefruit together)...~ I just called my pharmacist and listed all these medications for her, and she said that they are ALL FINEto take while eating grapefruit. YAY!~ She went on to say that mostly, there is a concern with taking cholesterol-lowering medications and eating grapefruit. ~ SO, if you are taking: DEPAKOTE, KLONOPIN (Clonazepam), Concerta, or Prilosec (Omeprazole), NO WORRIES! EAT YOUR GRAPEFRUIT & ENJOY!
Yes, You can.
Drinking alchol while taking wellbutrin will increase risk of seizures and other psychological problems. Also, it will decrease your tolerance for alcohol so symptoms of being drunk will appear sooner.
I take both Xanax and Depakote. I have been taking Depakote for 7 months and I just started taking Xanax with it. I also take an anti-depressant. I already am noticing that the Xanax trumps it all! I think I will stop taking my Depakote and take my Xanax and anti-depressant. I never liked Depakote because I get extremely fatiqued while on it and I really do not know what the hell it is doing to me anyways. In my case I feel so bad that I do not care about addiction right now and I just want to feel normal. Xanax I feel was made for some and not others. If you experience so much anxiety that it makes you break down and cry, then I suggest Xanax. Forget what people say and if it helps that is all that matters. Depression and anxiety are nothing to mess around with. I hope this helped.
I did once and... vomited all night. For the second time when taking clindamycin, I noticed no vomiting. So, better avoid drinking grapefruit juice while taking clindamycin.
