It is worth noting that the question confuses the names of the wars. The Six Day War is the Arab-Israeli War of 1967, not 1956. The Arab-Israeli War of 1956 is better known as the Suez Crisis and saw Britain and France ally with Israel to restore the Suez Canal to British control.
