The gaps between most hamster cages are too small to let even new-born hamsters to escape through.
It depends on what hamster you have. Usually they are pregnant for 2 weeks. 14-16 days. If your hamster is pregnant for 20 days or over, like most people say, then there must be something wrong. I have 2 hamsters. A boy and girl and the girl has had babies 3 different times. Working on 4. So, I am pretty certain that a hamster has its babies in early 3 weeks after the mating. If your hamster is having babies, and you don't want more. Seperate the boy from the girl. After the girl has her babies she gives out this fuem kind of thing that attracks the male, and in another 2 weeks you will have babies. If you have a hamster, they usually have up to 10 babies.
Sorry, but I'm pretty sure you can't but after the mommy hamster dies, you can hold the babies!
For Syrian Hamsters it's 6-14 pups. My Syrian Hamster had 9 and she was pretty chunky so Im pretty sure it depends on how big they are while there pregnant to get a rough estimate.
Yes, it is pretty normal, nothing to worry about =)
It is possible but I don't think petco wants unwanted hamster pups and the babies will be poor because hamster are not supposed to mate that young or there is a chance they will not
pretty much
Yes, I'm pretty sure!
You can leave them in the same cage ONLY if they are dwarf hamsters. No other breed of hamster can you put the male and female together with the babies, the male will hurt, kill, or even eat the babies. The male dwarf hamster, however, can actually help raise the babies with the female.
the hamster will get pretty scared and bite and eat the snail.
my teddy bear hamster sleeps a lot...pretty much the hole day and the hole night......i have had her for about 13 or 14 days now and she has gotten a lot bigger...she eats more than normal and doesnt drink a lot.........i do believe she is pregnant ....she is breathing heavy and she has mucus looking stuff coming out of her vagina ......the pet store told me that theese are some normal signs of pregnancy......they did not tell me this when i bought her.....and from most of the sites i have found on the web... they pretty much say the signs that she is pregnant ...sleeping a lot for a hamster is a sign of pregnancy.......so theres your answer
Me? No! Well, if you weren't pregnant this month, and have had unprotected sexual relations between now and then, chances are pretty good that you will be.
yes , unless she would much rather nest somewhere else than the corner of the cage . i have a pregnant hamster im pretty sure shes pregnant being that big, their stomachs usually get about 2 in. wider than usual. and are more active and sleep ALOT, so dont wake them!!!! im only 12 yrs old but i know pregnancy when i see it. you must be very carful and delicute or mabe could kill the babies . usually the regular amount of babies ( cubs ) are 3 to at least 12. the most to be born is 17, which is very rare. do not have males in cfage during birth possibly he would eat them. same , sometimes with the mom ,not always.thankssam holz12/13/09Mine did. She keeps the babies in one corner and food in another now. maybe it helps her remember where the babies are!
