What should i do I am getting to hamsters if they mate and she has babies should i get them out of the cage immediately so she doesn't eat them?

If she does have babies, take the male out so she WON'T eat them. She may get stressed. Also, don't get the baby hamsters out of the cage. They will probably die, and if you put them back in the cage, the mother hamster may eat them. Just watch the baby hamsters and the mother hamster. Hope this helped. DON'T TAKE THE BABIES OUT OF THE CAGE!!!!! With out the mom the babies will die. And if you put the babies back before they die she will eat them. Besure to take the male out yhe cage. If she feels like here babies are indangered she will eat them.good luck.

What do you do when your hamster's toes are red?

It might be from being in their cage too long. Just take the hamster out for awhile and clean the cage and if it doesn't improve take it to the vet.

Will mother hamster nip at their babies when they need to move out of the cage?

I don't know myself but if you type in "ways to entertain a dwarf hamster" on Google and click on the second website. This website is really good and will explain everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!though just as a rule dont touch the babies for two weeks and only go in the cage to change the food and water. The mother will take perfect care of those teeny weeny babies!!!!!!!!!!

How to take care of newborn hamster?

Being a hamster breeder as well as a rat breeder, you really don't have to do anything except for make sure she has her own cage before she gives birth, and provide her with something to make a nest (toilet paper works well). Also, make sure you separate the babies before they're 5 weeks old or mommy might get hungry and eat them. Just be sure they're weaned, and atleast 4 weeks old. Also, don't touch babies for atleast a week after they're born or mommy might reject them and they'll probably die.

What happens if a cage is too small for a guinea pig?

If the cage is too small take it back and get a new one! Never get anything hamster for a guinea pig. If you have a small cage then that means you got a hamster cage.

How can i take care of 7 babies if the female hamster died?

How old are they? If their eyes are open, do the same as if they were older. If they are still pink, they will most likely die. But you could still try. Give them a SMALL bottle of goats milk until they stop sucking on it. Do this ever half hour. Place a heating pad underneath the cage on low. Be very careful about the pad because it could get too hot for them and roast them alive. Also, have lots of bedding in the cage. If you have another female with them, she may take care of them, or she may kill them. Watch her with them. If she starts to get aggressive, take her out of the cage and put her in a new cage. That goes for all the hamsters in the cage if there are more. If any of them start to get aggressive with the babies, (picking them up does not count,) take the aggressive hamster out. If the father hamster is still in the cage. (and if he is a Roborovski hamster) he will most step into the mothers place and raise the litter. However, if they are so small they still need milk YOU must feed them. Call you vet for a hamster milk subtitute.
